Parisi Foley Law Cairns
We are senior lawyers who have worked together in private practice for more than 20 years.
We’ve joined forces to bring you our own law firm dedicated to employment law, contracting, risk management, dispute resolution and litigation. Importantly, our interest and understanding of commercial issues allows us to generate high quality options and solutions for you and your business.
We consider ourselves to be a formidable duo. Our clients and colleagues throughout the years have agreed. We are well-regarded in the Far North Queensland community, not only because of our legal expertise, but because we believe in being part of our great community and giving back. We live this philosophy by regularly volunteering for worthy organisations and buying locally.

Joanne Parisi
I have been practicing law for over 20 years in the areas of dispute resolution, building and construction, litigation, and local government.
I have been based in Cairns and have worked across Queensland from the remote north to Brisbane. My clients and peers respect me for my legal skill as well as my honest and approachable nature. I am also passionate about my local community. When I’m not working, you may find me volunteering as a director for important local organisations, including Cazalys, the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation, or on external boards such as Tropical Tourism North Queensland and the AICD Regional Forum.
In my downtime I enjoy exercising and hitting the local cafes, especially with my two precious Golden Retriever babies, Juliet and Willow.

- Admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia, 2006

Melinda Foley
As a lawyer, I have been helping clients resolve disputes for more than 25 years.
I have a wealth of experience when it comes to generating practical, client-focused solutions and can grasp complex structures and commercial issues quickly.
For the past 10 years, I have focussed on my special interest area of employment law. My experience encompasses all facets of industrial relations law from engagement to termination.
Outside of the law, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two (not so little anymore!) children. I love a long lunch with friends on Sunday, or curling up with the latest book club thriller. A trip to the beach is always a favourite pastime, especially if ice cream is involved. Stand up paddle boarding is an optional extra (depending on the amount of ice cream consumed).
